Today we're showcasing two really wonderful remixes from pool-side party boys, Tuff Turf. While they seem to maintain a pretty low profile online, you can reach them via Twitter, and Facebook. We're hoping to bring you more music from this pair soon, but hopefully the following tracks will hold you over until then.
This first one is my favorite, and has been a secret weapon for me this summer at my patio spot. Deftly sampling Lil Mo's 'Superwoman', it retrofits a millennial hip-hop classic with fun, bouncy, funky synths, and a driving bass-line. Solid percussion and digital bits abound, it the perfect mix of hip-hop and nu-disco. Download it. Thank me later. As Fabolous would say, 'D-d-dda-dadadadaDamn.'

I play a fair amount of upscale restaurant-type venues, from small sushi bars to outdoor patios, wine bars, and art shows. Since these gigs usually start earlier in the evening, I am always on the hunt for music that's funky and groovy, yet down-tempo. It aids in creating an upscale, intimate environment, yet is engaging for the discerning listener. This Tuff Turf Mowgli remix is ridiculously versatile. I use it to transition into 'CFCF' type house, downtempo (nu)disco, moombahton/moombahsoul, or mid-tempo pop-disco acts like Classixx, etc. It's vocal enough to draw people to the floor if the mood is right, yet reserved enough to maintain a laid-back vibe. -Alykhan
